1Therefore1I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to 2present your bodies a living and holysacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritualservice of worship.
2
And do not 3be conformed to 4thisworld, but be transformed by the 5renewing of your mind, so that you may 6provewhat the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
3
For through7the gracegiven to me I say to everyoneamong you 8not to thinkmorehighly of himself than he ought to think; but to thinkso as to havesoundjudgment, as God has allotted to 9each a measure of faith.
4
For 10just as we havemanymembers in onebody and all the members do not have the samefunction,
5
so we, 11who are many, are 12onebody in Christ, and individually*membersone of another.
6
Since we havegifts that 13differaccording to the gracegiven to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if14prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith;
7
if15service, in his serving; or he who 16teaches, in his teaching;
8
or he who 17exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with 18liberality; 19he who leads, with diligence; he who showsmercy, with 20cheerfulness.
9
Let 21love be withouthypocrisy. 22Abhorwhat is evil; cling to what is good.
10
Be 23devoted to oneanother in brotherlylove; givepreference to oneanother24in honor;
11
not laggingbehind in diligence, 25fervent in spirit, 26serving the Lord;
12
27rejoicing in hope, 28persevering in tribulation, 29devoted to prayer,
13
30contributing to the needs of the saints, 31practicinghospitality.
14
32Blessthose who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
15
33Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
16
34Be of the samemindtowardoneanother; 35do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. 36Do not be wise in your ownestimation.
17
37Neverpaybackevil for evil to anyone. 38Respectwhat is right in the sight of allmen.
18
Ifpossible, 39so far as it depends on you, 40be at peace with allmen.
19
41Nevertake your ownrevenge, beloved, but leaveroom for the wrath of God, for it is written, "42VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord.
20
"43BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SODOING YOU WILL HEAPBURNINGCOALS ON HIS HEAD."
21
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcomeevil with good.
