1Nowconcerning1spiritual gifts, brethren, 2I do not want you to be unaware.
2
3You know that when you were pagans, you were 4ledastray to the 5muteidols, however* you were led.
3
Therefore I makeknown to you that noonespeaking6by the Spirit of Godsays, "Jesus is 7accursed "; and noonecansay, "Jesus is 8Lord," except9by the HolySpirit.
4
Now there are 10varieties of gifts, but the sameSpirit.
5
And there are varieties of ministries, and the sameLord.
6
There are varieties of effects, but the same11God who worksallthings in all persons.
7
But to eachone is given the manifestation of the Spirit12for the commongood.
8
For to one is given the word of 13wisdomthrough the Spirit, and to another the word of 14knowledgeaccording to the sameSpirit;
9
to another15faith by the sameSpirit, and to another16gifts of healing by the oneSpirit,
10
and to another the effecting of 17miracles, and to another18prophecy, and to another the 19distinguishing of spirits, to another various 20kinds of tongues, and to another the 21interpretation of tongues.
11
But one and the sameSpiritworksallthesethings, 22distributing to eachoneindividuallyjust as He wills.
12
For even23as the body is one and yet hasmanymembers, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are onebody, 24soalso is Christ.
13
For 25by oneSpirit we were allbaptized into onebody, whether26JewsorGreeks, whetherslavesorfree, and we were allmade to 27drink of oneSpirit.
21
And the eyecannot*say to the hand, "I havenoneed of you"; oragain the head to the feet, "I havenoneed of you."
22
On the contrary, it is muchtruer that the members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary;
23
and those members of the bodywhich we deemlesshonorable, on these we bestowmoreabundanthonor, and our lesspresentable members becomemuchmorepresentable,
24
whereas our morepresentable members havenoneed of it. But God has so composed the body, givingmoreabundanthonor to that member which lacked,
25
so that there may be nodivision in the body, but that the members may have the samecare for oneanother.
26
And ifonemembersuffers, all the memberssuffer with it; if one member is honored, all the membersrejoice with it.
27
Now you are 32Christ'sbody, and 33individuallymembers of it.
28
And God has 34appointed in 35the church, first36apostles, second37prophets, third38teachers, then39miracles, then40gifts of healings, helps, 41administrations, various 42kinds of tongues.
29
All are not apostles, are they? All are not prophets, are they? All are not teachers, are they? All are not workers of miracles, are they?
30
All do not havegifts of healings, do they? All do not speak with tongues, do they? All do not 43interpret, do they?
31
But 44earnestlydesire the greatergifts. A nd I show you a stillmoreexcellentway.
