Mark 13:13 Meaning and Commentary

Mark 13:13

And ye shall be hated of all men
Not only of your friends and relations of your countrymen the Jews; but of all men, the generality of men, in, all nations of the world, wherever they came:

for my name's sake;
for the sake of Christ and his Gospel, they professed and preached:

but he that shall endure;
reproaches, afflictions, and persecutions, patiently; or persevere in the faith of Christ, in the profession of his name, and in preaching his Gospel:

to the end;
of such troubles, and of life:

the same shall be saved;
if not with a temporal, yet with an everlasting salvation; (See Gill on Matthew 10:22), (See Gill on Matthew 24:13).

Mark 13:13 In-Context

11 So when they arrest you and hand you over, don't worry beforehand what you will say. On the contrary, whatever is given to you in that hour-say it. For it isn't you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
12 Then brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rise up against parents and put them to death.
13 And you will be hated by everyone because of My name. But the one who endures to the end will be delivered.
14 "When you see the abomination that causes desolation standing where it should not" (let the reader understand), "then those in Judea must flee to the mountains!
15 A man on the housetop must not come down or go in to get anything out of his house.
